I’m guessing if you made it this far, you are probably somewhat familiar with my story. Please sit back and relax while I quickly cover it again. (Trust me . . . it’s really important background for what I’m going to share with you next!)
In my early 20's I was diagnosed with cervical cancer and given roughly a year to live. Trust me, I got REALLY CLEAR about what was important to me and focused about making it happen. By changing my diet, exercising and becoming very disciplined about my spiritual practices (forgiveness, meditation, journaling, praying, affirmations, etc.), I was able to return to the doctor's office and get a clean bill of health! I vowed I would never get sick again (and haven't gotten so much as the sniffles in the last 10 years). But what I DID vow to do was to continue with my spiritual practices, including an annual 40-day water fast.
I know it sounds crazy -- 40 days of ingesting nothing but water. Let me tell you, I've been doing it every year for the past 10 years, and what I have experienced is nothing short of phenomenal: clearer thinking, completely giving up my food addictions, resetting my metabolism, etc. So I started thinking... Hmmm... If I can revolutionize my body with a 40 day fast, what can I do with my mind and my business with a 40 day FOCUS FAST?
What if I REALLY pushed myself, just for 40 days?
So I put myself on a stretch:
Give up the distractions. Give up the "customary" way of doing business, and for 40 days, focus on creating the maximum level of results in my business.
Once again, the results were phenomenal:
In 2007, I began creating passive revenue through online marketing.
In 2008, my company was listed in the Inc 500 as one of the fastest growing companies in the United States.
In 2009, my book is finally being published.
In 2010, I am on track to finally finish my PhD, which is an amazing accomplishment in and of itself, but also garners huge credibility in my industry.
Not to mention the amazing breakthroughs I have had in my personal life. Toxic or unhealthy relationships ended, friendships that no longer served "magically" disappeared, making room for forward-thinking peers, mentors, and love!
In looking back over the past few years, I realize that my own business explosion came from fanatical focus. Every one of us starts out as a beginner . . . and sometimes with so much information hitting our face every day, it is hard to figure out what is the best direction for our business. I want to share all the steps I painstakingly learned in order to run a multi-million dollar enterprise over the past 10 years . . . and these very same steps work whether you want to run a part-time, medium-sized, or mega-global business.
For years now I’ve heard rumblings in my community about how difficult it is to get started, create momentum, or finally see the fruits of your hard labor because so many people don’t have these business basics in place.
I wanted to help. So I’ve retraced my own path from where I began to where I am today in an easy-to-follow roadmap.
